About the Movie
January 29, 2024. Red Crescent volunteers receive an emergency call. A 5-year-old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.

About the Event and Fundraiser
This Film Screen is organised by Free Palestine Townsville as a way to understand and learn about the reality of what is happening in Palestine. In particular, this is a story of a young, telling us what children experience in such context of genocide.
After the movie, we will continue the conversation with a speaker from Gaza. Dr Mohammed Khattab, an 81 year old Nakba survivor, PhD holder and professor. There will be opportunities to ask questions directly.
This is especially significant as the event will also be a commemoration of the ‘Nakba’ and how it is still ongoing.
All the income raised from the tickets will go towards supporting humanitarian relief in Gaza. 50% of the funds will be donated and distributed directly to families in Gaza. We are in contact directly with these families and they disctribute food and necessary needs to the local community. The other 50% will be donated to SANAD: Children’s Amputee Program.
The SANAD Program; a partnership between PCRF and the Little Wings Foundation, is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care, rehabilitation, and support to wounded Palestinian children, with a special focus on those who have suffered limb loss in Gaza. SANAD ensures these children receive long-term care, including custom prosthetics, rehabilitation, and mental health support, to reclaim their futures.

Free Palestine Townsville is a grassroots community initiative dedicated to informing, inspiring, and mobilizing our community about Palestine. We started simply as a concerned group of friends, just like many of you out there. We are very open to new friends joining with new energies and ideas. Our campaign focuses on education, solidarity, and practical action to make a difference.
