About
What is the Everyday Peace Community
The Everyday Peace Community is a space where you can find support, learn, collaborate, share your knowledge and experience, or ask for advice while connecting with others passionate about making change happen. The goal is to co-create the knowledge and networks we need to make change happen in our communities.

A Social Change Platform
The core idea of everyday peace is that people are agents of change. Everywhere in the world there are people and communities who resist violence and oppression in different forms. Often action happens not just through large, organised movement, but through smaller, and even informal initiatives.
The idea of the Everyday Peace Community is to be a space to support anyone who wants to take action for peace, social justice, social change. The platform provides powerful digital features for groups and activists to scale up their action. It also provides training and services.
Also, through this space we aim at sharing knowledge and resources so that groups can learn from one another and connect. Once we get together we can share the knowledge and experience that we need to make the changes we want more effective. This platform has been created to make digital tools and resources available to social change actors, starting from everyday people, informal communities, movements, small organisations and social enterprises around the world so they can maximise their impact.
There is also a focus on peace/ resistance research, with the view of connect research and action.
In this platform we think of social change in a broad sense. We imagine that people have diverse ideas of what change should look like, and may focus on different aspects of it. When we think of social change, we have in mind a society where everyone has the chance to live in dignity, freedom, and is able to express one-self. We want people, animals, and plants to improve their wellbeing in a deep, holistic sense, and be able to express themselves and achieve their potential. We acknowledge that we are all interconnected, and to achieve all this we need to heal and improve our connection with ourselves, each other, and our environment.
There are of course many barriers. We live in a socio-economic system were profit is prioritized over… everything else. It is our hope that this community will bring together new visions and hope on how to resist and build new alternatives. We will need to find ways to resist power structures that reproduce violence, inequality, and discrimination, and stop certain groups of people to dominate over others, appropriating their resources, exploiting socio-economic gaps for political or economic gain.

The everyday peace community's story
Dr Monica Carrer started developing the Everyday Peace Community platform in 2021. Monica has a background as a researcher in Peace and Conflict Studies. After her PhD, she decided to focus on connecting research and community action. She learnt from her own experience, and lack of access to resources herself, how important digital tools are for small activists and group, and how these are often not accessible. She taught herself advanced digital skills and web design to create complex Apps for this purpose. Therefore, the Everyday Peace Community and all the digital tools and services are designed by a conventional IT company, but by someone who has your same goals.
Our Model
Heart-based model
At a time where we are constantly bombarded with ads and content that seeks to push us to buy, we would like people to enjoy this platform experience and build positive relationships and ideas without the pressure of buying and selling. Furthermore, we want this to be a space where resources are free and accessible. At the same time, we all need to cover costs, particularly for those who do not have the priviledge to work for free. The same is true for us.
Therefore, through this platform we experimenting a model through which everything is offered for free, with voluntary contributions based on the your capacity are welcome and encouraged.
